The Trump administration has left absolutely no doubt that the Republican Party is the party for white supremacists, neo-Nazis, alt-righters, white nationalists, and all of the other garden-variety bigots. In April, Pew Research published its annual survey on Race in America, which further clarified the difference in attitudes about race between the two major political parties:
As a lifelong racist, it is only fitting that Donald Trump heads such a party. After all, in October 1973, the Justice Department sued him for violating the Fair Housing Act by refusing to rent to people of color. Although that case was settled in 1975, Trump was sued yet again in 1978 for failing to live up to the original settlement terms. There was simply no way he was going to allow the law to restrict his chosen expressions of bigotry. But then, he never did believe that laws applied to him. He still doesn't.
